This 7400 SF school addition comprised of a two-station Gymnasium, Band Room and Media Center. Additional renovations included ADA upgrades, three Science Room renovations and Central Office alterations. Site improvements addressed bus access and increasing parking capabilities.
This project was one of three projects built simultaneously in the district. The others being a 9-classroom and Gymnasium addition at the Millington School and a 5-classroom addition at the Gillette School.
This historic school was selectively re-pointed and corroded lintels were replaced. This was one of many projects completed for the Tenafly Board of Education. Other projects included the following:
This old 1908 school building had retained the original Chemistry Lab. Paul Tiajoloff, AIA was retained to replace all finishes and fixtures in place but incorporating computer terminals at all stations and increasing storage for equipment and chemicals. Replacement of the HVAC system to provide sufficient air circulation and fume exhaust was an essential part of the program.
One of many restoration projects performed by Paul Tiajoloff, AIA this one consisted of replacing existing windows with new double pane insulated windows. The emphasis was to retain as much of the original effect of the old wood ones.
This new school was designed for a steeply sloped site in the location of an existing inefficient elementary school. The project was designed to retain the old structure until the new was finished. The design focused on creating a building that was open to the community and environment.

This $2.7 million addition consists of an expanded gymnasium to full size and adding four classrooms, computer lab, science lab, art and Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms.
